Leon’s career in property spans 35 years covering finance, investment, development, investment banking and management across Australia, Japan, China, Singapore, UK, Ireland and the USA. While mainly based in Australia, for a number of years he was based in Japan and subsequently Ireland.
Positions held during his career include Managing Director and Head of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s property businesses in Asia, Head of Property with responsibility for disposal of Ulster Bank’s EUR16bn portfolio in Ireland, Global Head of Property at NAB and Senior Vice President - Head of Property Investment Banking at Bankers Trust Australia.
Leon began his career as a Chartered Accountant, has a degree in Economics from ANU and an MBA from UTS.

Philip has over 40 years of experience in property. His senior positions include Managing Director of Knight Frank and General Manager Development, MAB Corporation. He served for 15 years on the Victorian Divisional Council of the Property Council of Australia, including 2 separate terms as President.
Philip is a member of the Investment Board of AMB Capital Partners (the investment arm of the Angela Bennett Group of Companies) and is Chairman of BlueHQ Marinas and BluestoneOCM Pty Ltd.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts, Monash University and a Property Valuations Qualification, RMIT University.

Andrew is a property and finance professional with over 30 years of expertise across acquisition, capital raising, equities research, debt underwriting and portfolio construction. His investment track record of $5 billion spans a variety of asset classes, geographies (Australia, Asia and UK) and risk profiles (from core to development)
Andrew has held senior roles as a principal investor (GIC Real Estate), a fund manager of private market capital (Charter Hall Group and CBRE Global Investors) and a “sell side” A‑REIT analyst (Macquarie Bank and Credit Suisse).
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from UNSW and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Strategic, passionate, and results driven, Daniel has advised, financed and transacted well over $1 billion in real estate development over the last 15 years.
Daniel is a respected figure within Australia's real estate development industry with Newground twice appearing in BRW’s Fast Starters list. Prior to starting Newground in 2009, Daniel held an executive M&A role within an ASX listed entity within the medical industry.
Daniel is a licensed real estate agent in NSW & QLD, a qualified Financial Planner and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors as well as the Urban Development Institute of Australia. Daniel is a committee member of the Property Council of Australia.
Stephen has extensive experience in financing real estate transactions, identifying and assessing sponsors and partners, transaction structuring, execution and active management of financing transactions across the capital structure.
With over 24 years employment with ANZ culminating in the responsibility for clients located in the eastern Australian states, comprising capital under management of approx. $3.4b.
After ANZ, Stephen joined investment bank Babcock & Brown for approximately 3 years where he was responsible for the investment and divestment of their mezzanine debt portfolio and single asset equity positions.
24 years in the real estate sector has seen Robert gain experience in construction cost consulting, development and project management, direct property investment and development finance.
Prior to Newground, Robert was an executive at leading South African commercial bank Nedbank Ltd where he led the regional real estate equity investment team which transacted across the region and in sectors such as residential, office, industrial, hotel and retail.
Robert's responsibilities at Newground are focused around transaction origination,
execution and portfolio management
RISK & COMPLIANCE
Kevin Razavi has 20 years’ experience in financial services working in a number of back office and middle office administration roles within Westpac Banking Group and JPMorgan Investor Services.
In 2007, Kevin stepped into a Risk and Compliance role at Schroders Investment Management Australia Limited and from there moved to Perpetual Corporate Trust – Managed Fund Services (PCT) and was there from 2009 to June 2021. Kevin has recently joined the newly formed ICG - Newground Team in July 2021 as an Associate Director.
Kevin holds a Bachelor in Applied Finance, Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance (FINSIA).
Having over 10 years of experience within the real estate & property industry, Ashlie has become a true all-rounder with strengths ranging from financial administration to marketing & design.
Ashlie has managed back-office operations within large scale real estate brokerages as well as construction management firms giving her a wide-range of knowledge and expertise within the industry.
Since joining ICG-Newground, Ashlie manages office operations and fund administration. Ashlie is also responsible for designing ICG-Newground's marketing material and event coordination.
John joined the ICG-Newground team after 4 years as an Analyst with one of Australia’s leading non-bank commercial loan originators – Balmain Commercial. This role saw him gain experience in structuring real estate credit solutions across all major property asset classes.
John delivers an extensive assessment of investment opportunities for consideration of inclusion within the fund, this includes the development and modelling of transaction structure and risk mitigation.
John also provides support in the ongoing management of the investments undertaken.
John has a Bachelor of International Business, Finance, & Trade along with qualifications in mortgage broking and finance.
